Abstract (анотація)

This article explores the evolutionary development of the right to information, with a particular emphasis on the theoretical and legal foundation provided by freedom of expression. It highlights the significant impact that the rights to access information and to communicate have had on the rethinking of the right to information as a whole. The study concludes that in the information society, information itself has become inherently valuable, thus justifying the recognition of the right to information as an independent and distinct right. The necessity for legislative recognition of the right to information, the right to participate in the information society, and the right to access the Internet is also substantiated.
