This article explores the evolving role of information rights within the broader human rights framework, with a focus on legal doctrine, international treaties, and court practices. It underscores the importance of Articles 10 and 11 of the European Convention on Human Rights as foundational to the European Court’s rulings on information rights. The study highlights the intrinsic links between information rights and other human rights, as well as the emerging field of digital rights. It raises concerns about potential infringements, particularly in the realms of social networks, artificial intelligence, and digital election tools, emphasizing the growing importance of defining the boundaries of digital intrusion in the modern understanding of human rights.
